Role overview
• The Manager – Performance & Attribution Reporting is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of investment performance measurement, attribution reporting, and the portfolio analytics framework across EIA's full investment portfolio. • The role ensures accurate, timely, and transparent performance reporting across all asset classes and investment portfolios, supporting investment decision-making, portfolio oversight, and governance. • Operating within a multi-asset, sovereign wealth fund environment, they are responsible for implementing the performance measurement framework, maintaining data integrity, supervising operational reporting activities, and driving continuous improvements in reporting processes, and analytical outputs. • Overall, the Manager plays a key, leading role in executing the strategic responsibilities of the function. Core Responsibilities
- Performance Measurement & Attribution • Manage the end-to-end investment performance measurement process across all investment portfolios and asset classes, and all the aggregations of those portfolios. • Ensure accurate calculation and validation of portfolio returns aligned to approved methodologies. • Produce and review performance contribution and attribution analyses, including but not limited to: o Asset allocation & Security selection o Factor attribution o Risk-adjusted performance analysis • Validate benchmark calculations and comparative performance reporting and analysis. • Ensure consistency between internal and external performance analysis where applicable
- Portfolio Analytics, Reporting and Executive Information • Analyse portfolio performance against investment objectives, benchmarks, strategic asset allocation, and other relevant asset class and industry approaches. • Identify key drivers of portfolio returns and investigate and understand performance variances. • Produce investment performance analysis and reports for stakeholders including: o Executive Management o Committees o Asset class Teams / Portfolio Managers o Chief Financial Officer • Prepare analytical insights and commentary supporting investment reviews and governance discussions ensuring the information is presented to stakeholders in clear and informative ways. • Support ad hoc portfolio performance analysis.
- Performance Data Management, Documentation & Controls • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reconciliation of performance data across different platforms and systems. • Perform data validation and exception management to maintain high-quality reporting outputs. • Maintain documentation of policies and controls governing performance measurement and attribution methodologies and standards. • Support internal and external audit requirements through complete documentation and evidence of methodologies and controls.
- Systems - Automation & Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation • Oversee day-to-day operation of performance reporting platforms and analytical tools in collaboration with any related parties. • Support implementation of system and methodology enhancements, and reporting automation initiatives. • Collaborate with IT and Data teams to improve integration between platforms and systems. • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy, reduce manual intervention, enhance data quality. • Develop and implement enhanced analytical visualization, with support of other IT and Data teams where necessary. • Develop and support the usage and adoption of AI-enabled analytical and reporting tools.
- Governance & Stakeholder Management • Ensure compliance with approved performance and analytical reporting methodologies, governance standards, and internal controls and policies. Conduct periodic review of such methodologies and standards. • Coordinate with Investment, Risk, Operations and other relevant teams to resolve performance and reporting issues and data discrepancies. • Liaise with any 3rd party service providers and entities to ensure data accuracy and service quality. • Support governance forums through timely, accurate performance and attribution reporting.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. • CIPM, CFA Charter holder or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable. Experience Requirements • 10–12 years of experience in investment performance measurement, attribution reporting, portfolio analytics, or investment reporting. • Minimum 3 years leading or supervising performance reporting teams. • Experience within a sovereign wealth fund, asset owner, asset management firm, pension fund, or institutional investment environment is strongly preferred. • Proven experience working with multi-asset portfolios, benchmark methodologies, and institutional investment performance reporting. • Experience implementing analytical reporting enhancements, automation initiatives, or performance systems development is required. Technical Expertise / Skills / Knowledge • Strong knowledge of investment performance measurement and contribution/attribution methodologies across Public and Private assets within an overall multi-asset portfolio. • Strong understanding of accounting, valuation, and investment data and flows. • Deep experience within the areas of portfolio analytics, benchmark construction, and performance reporting. • Familiarity with performance measurement systems (e.g., Solovis, SimCorp, BNY Eagle, Bloomberg PORT, FactSet, MSCI Barra, or equivalent). • Advanced analytical, reporting, commentary and presentation skills, specifically with reporting and data visualization tools e.g. Power BI. • Ability to interpret complex investment information and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders both in spoken and written form.
