The role connects daily transactions with month-end reporting, budget monitoring, audit readiness, and management analysis. Consistent financial control will help the school manage resources responsibly, meet payment obligations, monitor revenue, and identify issues before they affect operations. Key Responsibilities * Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting accounting schedules. * Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and closing entries. * Complete monthly and year-end account-closing activities within agreed deadlines. * Prepare financial statements, management reports, and account analyses. * Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, supplier balances, and receivable records. * Monitor school-fee income and other receivables while maintaining accurate collection information. The Senior Accountant will work with administrative and management teams to ensure that transactions are properly authorized, recorded, documented, and allocated. * Review supplier invoices and support timely payment processing. * Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and report significant variances. * Assist with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash-flow planning. * Maintain fixed-asset records and support periodic verification activities. * Ensure accounting practices follow approved policies, internal controls, and professional standards. * Prepare schedules and supporting evidence for internal and external audits. * Investigate financial discrepancies and coordinate timely corrective action. * Protect confidential financial information and restrict access appropriately. * Provide management with clear explanations of financial trends, risks, and performance. * Support improvements to accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and financial systems. Ideal Profile Applicants must hold a Bachelor 's degree in Commerce or a closely related discipline. This qualification is mandatory. Professional certification such as CMA or ACCA will be an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliation, and internal controls. Previous experience in a comparable accounting position within the UAE is highly preferred. Experience within a school or education organization will provide additional value. The role requires accuracy, integrity, analytical ability, deadline management, and confident communication with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
