Senior BI Engineer - (Tableau Developer)
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Engineer – Tableau Developer to join our Data Engineering chapter supporting Digital Products & Data & Analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Tableau solutions that transform complex business data into intuitive, scalable, and actionable dashboards. This role requires strong expertise in Tableau development, Tableau Server/Cloud administration, SQL, data modelling, performance optimization, and enterprise BI governance. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to deliver high-quality analytics solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Requirements Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Tableau dashboards, workbooks, and data sources. • Build interactive, visually compelling, and high-performing dashboards that enable business users to make data-driven decisions. • Develop and optimize: • Calculated Fields • Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions • Table Calculations • Parameters • Dashboard Actions • Design efficient Tableau data models aligned with business and analytical requirements. • Write optimized SQL queries to support Tableau reporting and analytical workloads. • Connect Tableau to multiple data sources including: • SQL databases • Live Connections • Tableau Extracts • Enterprise Data Warehouses • Blend and integrate multiple data sources while ensuring: • Data accuracy • Data consistency • Data freshness • Implement and manage: • Row-Level Security (RLS) • User Permissions • Data Governance • Secure Data Access • Publish, maintain, and manage Tableau content on Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud. • Configure schedules, refreshes, permissions, and version control in accordance with enterprise governance standards. • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to improve upstream data pipelines and reporting performance. • Ensure dashboards follow enterprise visualization standards, accessibility guidelines, and Tableau best practices. • Optimize dashboard performance through efficient calculations, query tuning, and workbook design. • Contribute reusable Tableau assets including: • Dashboard Templates • Custom Themes • Colour Palettes • Custom Shapes • Reusable Components • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. • Troubleshoot reporting issues, optimize performance, and provide production support for Tableau solutions.

Preferred Experience • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, or Analytics Engineering. • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience within an enterprise environment. • Experience working with large-scale enterprise reporting platforms. • Experience supporting Digital Products, Enterprise Analytics, or Data Engineering initiatives. • Exposure to cloud-based BI platforms and modern analytics ecosystems is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications • Tableau Desktop Specialist • Tableau Certified Data Analyst • Tableau Certified Professional (preferred) • Any relevant Data Analytics or Business Intelligence certification
