Assistant Accountant

Responsibilities Assist in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance tasks. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit outcomes. Manage the collection of payments and cheques from clients. Support project cost forecasting, budgeting, and expense tracking. Assist in financial and cost accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL, forecasting, and budgeting. Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities. Record financial transactions in accordance with company policies and regulations. Review and recommend improvements to existing accounting procedures. Support year-end closing activities and financial reconciliations. Administer accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Prepare tax computations and returns. Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting. Analyze and resolve complex financial issues. Apply accounting principles to various financial transactions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accountancy. Preferred: Diploma in IT. 1–3 years in accounting or finance roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Experience with accounting software. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
