Role overview

March 4, 2026 Job Description The College of Law at the University of Dubai is seeking to appoint a highly qualified Assistant Professor in the field of English Law. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and academic development within the LLB program. The appointed candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in core areas of English Law and the ability to teach foundational and advanced common law subjects within the LLB program, including Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Equity and Trusts, Jurisprudence, and related disciplines. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate English Law courses within the LLB program in English. Deliver core common law subjects such as Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, Equity and Trusts, and Jurisprudence. Develop course materials, assessments, and teaching resources aligned with program learning outcomes, quality assurance requirements, and accreditation standards. Maintain an active research agenda and publish in peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals. Contribute to curriculum development, academic advising, student supervision, and quality assurance processes. Participate in college committees, accreditation activities, and institutional service. Contribute to the academic and strategic growth of the College of Law. Qualifications & Requirements PhD in Law from a recognized and reputable university, preferably with specialization in an area of common law. The candidate’s primary law degree must be obtained from a recognized institution within a common law jurisdiction, preferably the United Kingdom or another established common law system. Minimum of two years teaching experience at a recognized and reputable university, with demonstrated competency in teaching core English Law subjects within an LLB program. Demonstrated expertise in common law methodology and the case law based system of legal education. A strong research record, including publications in peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals. A Scopus H-index of 2 to 3 or above, reflecting scholarly impact. Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, research productivity, and institutional service.
