Role overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant / Specialist General Surgeon to join a premier healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise in general surgery , managing a wide range of surgical disorders affecting the abdomen, breast, soft tissues, and other general surgical areas. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the consultant will provide high-quality surgical care including elective and emergency surgeries, preoperative and postoperative management, and patient counseling. Key Responsibilities • Conduct detailed surgical consultations and physical examinations. • Diagnose and manage patients requiring general surgical interventions. • Plan, perform, and assist in elective and emergency general surgical procedures. • Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of surgical patients. • Perform surgeries related to the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, breast, thyroid, soft tissue, and hernias. • Ensure proper surgical documentation, patient records, and operative notes are maintained accurately. • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, tumor boards, and case discussions when appropriate. • Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and postoperative care. • Manage surgical complications and coordinate appropriate follow-up care. • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, UAE medical regulations, and best practices. • Engage in continuous professional development, clinical audits, research, and teaching activities.

Requirements MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification. Postgraduate qualification or board certification in General Surgery . Relevant clinical experience in general surgical practice. Proven skills in performing a broad range of elective and emergency general surgical procedures. Strong clinical judgment and surgical decision-making ability. Excellent knowledge of perioperative patient management. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
