Consultant / Specialist - General Surgery - (UK CCT)
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care, including assessment, diagnosis, operative management, and post-operative follow-up for a wide range of surgical conditions. Key Responsibilities • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring surgical intervention. • Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures. • Manage common surgical conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, abdomen, hernias, gallbladder, appendix, and soft tissues. • Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop appropriate surgical plans. • Provide post-operative care and manage surgical complications. • Perform minimally invasive/laparoscopic procedures where appropriately trained. • Participate in emergency and on-call surgical services as required. • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, intensivists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, and other specialists. • Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation. • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Requirements • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. • Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery . • Relevant post-specialty experience in General Surgery. • Strong experience in elective and emergency surgical procedures. • Laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery experience is preferred. • Valid professional registration/license in the country of practice. • Excellent surgical judgment, clinical skills, and decision-making abilities. • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills. • Consultant candidates: Appropriate senior-level qualifications and substantial post-specialty experience. • Candidates with UK CCT/UK specialist qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or South African Board are highly encouraged to apply.
