Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Oil Field Chemicals Engineer to support oil & gas production operations through the development, optimization, and management of chemical treatment programs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in production chemicals, flow assurance, corrosion control, water treatment, and oilfield chemical applications. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize oilfield chemical treatment programs Monitor and improve production chemistry performance Manage corrosion, scale, wax, asphaltene, and H₂S treatment programs Conduct laboratory testing and field trials for chemical products Support drilling, completion, and production operations Troubleshoot production chemistry issues in the field Coordinate with operations teams, suppliers, and clients Ensure compliance with HSE and environmental standards Prepare technical reports, chemical recommendations, and performance evaluations Support chemical injection system design and monitoring Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Chemistry 3–10+ years experience in oilfield chemicals or production chemistry Strong knowledge of: Corrosion inhibitors Scale inhibitors Demulsifiers Biocides Paraffin/wax inhibitors H₂S scavengers Water treatment chemicals Experience with laboratory and field chemical testing Familiarity with API, ASTM, ISO, and NACE standards Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and reporting abilities Preferred Experience: Offshore or onshore oilfield operations Chemical injection systems Produced water treatment Flow assurance and asset integrity programs Vendor and client management Work Location: In person
