Role overview

Awtad is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the implementation and monitoring of workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. You will assist in conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. Responsibilities • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures. • Report and document safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses. • Provide safety training and awareness sessions to employees. • Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions. • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards. • Maintain safety equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance. • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements • Technical diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. • Relevant practical training in workplace safety and basic knowledge of safety practices. • Experience monitoring high-risk activities including electrical work, hot work, working at heights, mechanical maintenance, and lifting and material handling operations. • Experience ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). • Proficiency with safety management software and tools. • NEBOSH and OSHA certifications are required, along with Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) accreditation as a Technician. • Professional proficiency in Arabic and English. • Saudi national. • Experience monitoring Permit to Work (PTW) activities is a plus. • Experience assisting with risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a plus. • Experience working with maintenance teams and ensuring employee and contractor compliance with safety procedures is a plus.
