Role overview
Key Responsibilities • Administer approved database platforms, instances, storage, jobs, configurations and access controls. • Monitor database health, performance, capacity, availability and replication/high-availability components. • Diagnose incidents, blocking, failed jobs, performance degradation and data-platform dependencies. • Manage approved backup, recovery, maintenance, patching and upgrade activities in coordination with other teams. • Support database security, privileged access, audit logging and periodic access reviews. • Maintain database inventories, configuration baselines, procedures, diagrams and recovery runbooks. • Provide controlled support to application releases, integrations, reporting and UAT activities. • Document root causes, risks and recommendations; material changes remain subject to approval. Requirements • Minimum 6 years of enterprise database administration experience. • Strong experience in one or more of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MongoDB, with the ability to support the confirmed estate. • Demonstrable skills in performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, security and capacity management. • Oracle OCP, Microsoft database certification or equivalent preferred. • Strong understanding of production controls, segregation of duties and auditable change management. • Previous experience supporting UAE government or regulated data environments. • Working knowledge of TDRA-hosted database environments and access processes. • Experience supporting hybrid and highly available database platforms. • Database availability, backup and performance are managed against the confirmed baseline. • Privileged access and changes remain controlled and auditable. • Capacity and recoverability risks are identified and escalated early. • Production support is coordinated without unapproved changes to business data.
