Role overview
This role generates sales and delivers exceptional customer service within IKEA’s fast‑paced market hall environment, where you will arrange products, maintain the sales floor, and help customers find solutions for their homes. You will work closely with the shopkeeper to complete operational tasks, meet weekly sales targets, and participate in store inventories and meetings. The position requires physical stamina for standing long hours and lifting stock, combined with a friendly, engaging personality that creates a positive first impression for every customer. Key Responsibilities Create a sparkling clean and organized environment through consistent store maintenance and cleanliness throughout the market hall. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward merchandise, the IKEA brand, and the company. Complete all duties assigned by the shopkeeper promptly. Meet or exceed weekly sales targets while participating fully in all market hall inventories and store meetings. Adhere to the designated work schedule and demonstrate punctuality. Work flexibly with peers and management to accomplish daily duties. Follow IKEA policies and procedures thoroughly, including health and safety guidelines for stock handling. Create a positive first impression for customers through an energetic attitude, adherence to dress code, and a warm smile. Greet customers immediately upon approach, provide current and relevant product information, and help them locate items. Assist with stock replenishment, product arrangement, and ensuring that displays are appealing and accessible to shoppers. Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of retail sales experience, preferably in a fast‑moving consumer goods or home furnishings environment. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and helpfully. Physically fit to lift products safely and stand for prolonged periods throughout each shift. Warm and friendly greeting style with a genuine customer focus. Proven customer service skills with a positive and engaging demeanor under pressure.
