About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Backend Software Engineers to support an AI training project by creating challenging coding tasks and evaluating AI-generated solutions. You’ll use your software engineering expertise to develop realistic problems involving feature implementation, bug fixing, and code quality. No prior AI experience is required — your backend engineering expertise is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

Create realistic, challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes . Develop deterministic testers and verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject incorrect ones. Build and evaluate tasks based on real-world backend engineering workflows. Debug software issues and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability . Review code for correctness, maintainability, and quality. Assess solutions using automated tests and objective evaluation criteria. Required Qualifications Strong backend development experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++ , or similar languages. Experience building scalable services and APIs . Proficiency in debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing. Strong code review and software quality assessment skills. Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals . Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience delivering high-quality, performant backend applications. Experience identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks. Experience refactoring codebases and implementing complex features in large-scale applications. Ability to create reliable, objective tests for evaluating software solutions. Compensation $30–$100/hour , with output-based payment for tasks that meet project specifications. Independent contractor engagement. Approximately 15 hours per week . Flexible schedule, including weekends if desired. Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week. Approximately 100 openings available.
