About the Company

CodeNinja is a full-stack Sovereign AI delivery company helping Saudi enterprises and government entities build, own, and compound AI and engineering capability permanently, rather than renting it through vendor contracts. Operating from Riyadh with delivery capability across the Kingdom and the broader MENA region, CodeNinja works across priority sectors including government digitization, energy, financial services, logistics, and healthcare, and is recognized among the 100 fastest-growing technology companies of 2026 by Clutch. Through embedded engineering teams, AI capability centers, and owned application infrastructure, CodeNinja partners with banks and enterprises to modernize systems and operationalize intelligence across mission-critical workflows.

About Role

We’re looking for an Appian Integration Developer to connect Appian applications for a leading bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to core banking, channels and enterprise services. You will build secure, resilient and well-monitored integrations through the bank’s API and middleware layers. This is an onsite role in Riyadh, open to all nationalities, requiring strong Appian integration experience and a solid enterprise integration or Java background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Connected Systems, Integration objects and Appian Web APIs for inbound and outbound services
  • Integrate with core banking, CRM, DMS, payment, credit bureau (e.g. SIMAH) and government services (e.g. Nafath, Yakeen) via the bank’s API gateway/ESB
  • Implement secure authentication: OAuth 2.0, mTLS, API keys, SAML/OIDC SSO and LDAP/AD group sync
  • Develop custom Java plug-ins (smart services, functions, connected system plug-ins) where out-of-the-box features fall short
  • Design for resilience: retries, timeouts, idempotency, error queues and asynchronous patterns with Kafka/MQ
  • Handle file-based and batch integrations (SFTP, bulk loads) securely
  • Implement integration logging, monitoring and alerting; support production incidents
  • Produce interface specifications and work with downstream system owners on contract changes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of total experience, including 5+ years of Appian integrations
  • Strong enterprise integration or Java background
  • Appian Certified Senior Developer (mandatory)
  • Notice period of 1 month, or immediate joiners preferred

Must Haves

  • Expert in Appian Connected Systems, Integrations and Web APIs
  • Strong Java (Java 11+), REST/SOAP, JSON/XML and OpenAPI/WSDL
  • Experience with API gateways and middleware (e.g. Apigee, Kong, IBM ACE/IIB, MuleSoft)
  • Messaging: Kafka, IBM MQ or RabbitMQ
  • Security standards for banking integrations, encryption and secret management
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Java or API-platform certification
  • Spring Boot microservices
  • Open banking experience (SAMA Open Banking Framework)
  • Appian RPA
