Westview International Language School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Position as Manufacturing and Design to Position Overview
The Manufacturing & Design Teacher is responsible for teaching students practical and theoretical concepts related to design, manufacturing, engineering, and technology. The role focuses on developing students’ creativity, problem-solving, technical skills, and ability to transform ideas into practical products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Manufacturing & Design lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach students design thinking, product development, manufacturing processes, and technical skills.
- Develop practical projects that encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
- Guide students through the complete design process, from idea generation and planning to prototyping and final production.
- Teach students how to use appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and technology safely and effectively.
- Integrate technology and digital design tools into classroom activities where appropriate.
- Assess students’ practical work, projects, presentations, and theoretical understanding.
- Provide constructive feedback and support students in improving their designs and practical outcomes.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and effective workshop/classroom environment.
- Ensure students follow all health and safety procedures when using tools, machinery, and materials.
- Prepare teaching materials, project resources, assessments, and lesson plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of different learners.
- Encourage teamwork, communication, creativity, and independent thinking.
- Participate in school events, meetings, professional development, and other assigned activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support students’ academic and personal development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Design, Engineering, Industrial Design, Technology Education, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience in a school environment is preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of manufacturing, product design, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience with design software/CAD or digital fabrication tools is an advantage.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Ability to design and deliver hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
