Mobile Application Developer - Flutter
Role overview
Key Responsibilities
l Develop, test and maintain features in Flutter/Dart for iOS and Android apps, following agreed architecture and coding standards. l Build field-ready functionality such as offline data capture, photo capture and annotation, QR/barcode scanning, forms and checklists, and location tagging. l Implement polished, responsive UI for the customer-facing B2C app from Figma designs, with attention to performance and usability. l Integrate apps with backend services, including Salesforce and custom REST APIs (.NET/Node), Firebase (Auth, Firestore, FCM, Crashlytics) and third-party partner APIs. l Handle local storage and data sync, including error handling and retry logic for poor connectivity on site. l Write unit and widget tests, fix bugs, and take part in code reviews. l Support app releases to the App Store and Google Play, including builds, testing and release notes. l Investigate crash reports and user feedback, and resolve issues promptly. l Work with QA, Operations and Customer Service to understand workflows and turn them into working features. l Give accurate estimates for your tasks and take part in sprint planning and stand-ups
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. l 2–5 years of mobile development experience, including at least 2 years building production apps in Flutter. l At least 1 app published and live on the App Store and/or Google Play (please include links). l Good working knowledge of Dart, Flutter widgets and layouts, and at least one state management approach (Bloc, Riverpod or Provider). l Experience consuming REST APIs, handling JSON, and implementing authentication (token-based / OAuth). l Hands-on experience with Firebase services, especially push notifications and crash reporting. Whitespot | IT & Digital Page 2 l Experience with local storage (Hive, Isar, SQLite/Drift or Shared Preferences). l Comfortable with Git, pull requests and branching workflows. l Basic understanding of the iOS and Android build and release process. l Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear communication in English.
