Role overview

JOB PURPOSE: The Analytics Manager turns analytics at Gathern from a reporting service into a trusted decision engine. That means one source of truth every team relies on, and analysts embedded with the business who find the opportunities, gaps and fixes that move company KPIs. You will build and run an A-player analytics team and operating rhythm that delivers this independently, so leadership can make faster, evidence-based decisions. You will sit inside the company's planning cycle, own how performance is measured and explained, and set the data-backed priorities for each function. Gathern is a Saudi alternative accommodation marketplace, connecting guests and hosts in line with Vision 2030.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: KPI framework

  • Design and maintain a connected KPI tree: North Star, then primary and secondary KPIs for each function.
  • Give every KPI one owner, one certified definition and a clear link to the KPI above it.

Planning and simulation

  • Own the analytical side of the annual and quarterly planning cycle.
  • Build driver-based models that simulate targets and check that function targets add up to company targets.
  • Run scenarios for leadership and Finance, and defend the assumptions.

Performance reporting

  • Own the monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Explain every material miss or beat with its real drivers and a recommended action.

Data-backed priorities

  • Set the top data-backed focus areas for each function every quarter.
  • Track which recommendations are adopted and measure their impact on KPIs.
  • Design experiments and post-launch measurement for key initiatives.

Single source of truth

  • Enforce certified metrics, definition control and dashboard hygiene across the company.
  • Ensure leadership forums use only certified numbers.

Team and operating system

  • Hire, coach and grow the analyst team; review their work for logic and quality.
  • Write role scorecards and SOPs for every analyst, and assign each a business function to partner with.
  • Run demand intake and prioritization so the team spends its time on high-value work, not ad-hoc pulls.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Must have

  • 6–8+ years in analytics, including 2+ years leading analysts
  • Experience in a consumer marketplace or two-sided platform (travel, rideshare, delivery, e-commerce) at scale-up stage
  • Has owned a KPI framework, planning models and performance reviews used at executive level
  • Has built or matured an analytics function beyond reporting
  • Advanced SQL (BigQuery preferred) and BI tools (Metabase or similar)
  • Strong in forecasting, scenario modeling, variance analysis and experimentation
  • Strong written and spoken English, with board-ready communication

Personal qualities

  • Business-first: starts from the decision, not the data
  • Has the credibility to challenge senior leaders using evidence
  • Holds a high bar for accuracy and coaches rather than redoes
  • Stays structured and calm under pressure

Nice to have

  • Arabic
  • GCC or MENA market experience
  • Experience scoping data science use cases
