Chief Accountant

Job Brief We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chief Accountant to oversee the company's accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting and proper financial controls. You will manage day-to-day accounting activities, monitor financial transactions, prepare reports, and support management with accurate and timely financial information. This role is important for maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and the smooth operation of the company's finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash transactions.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, receivables, payables, and other financial activities.
• Perform regular bank, ledger, and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review invoices, payments, expenses, and supporting documents for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cost control activities.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other financial institutions when required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and local financial regulations.
• Monitor internal financial controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Provide management with financial analysis, reports, and information to support business decisions.
• Supervise and support accounting staff and ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Proven experience in accounting, with previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage deadlines, work independently, and handle confidential financial information professionally.
