Key responsibilities
  • 01Provide legal guidance related to energy regulations, environmental laws, and compliance obligations in the energy sector.
  • 02Negotiate and draft a variety of complex agreements, including joint ventures, supply contracts, and project financing documents.
  • 03Assess legal risks associated with projects and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks.
  • 04Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations affecting the energy industry, and advise the organization accordingly.
  • 05Represent the organization in disputes related to energy projects, engaging with external counsel as necessary.
  • 06Support compliance training initiatives to raise awareness of legal and regulatory issues among staff.
  • 07Provide strategic input into corporate transactions impacting the energy portfolio.
  • 08Lead negotiation and drafting on commercial and international government deals and transactions while supporting the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes
  • 09Advise on complex legal and business matters to solve a multitude of challenges across the company, including in the compliance and regulatory space
  • 10Assist in building infrastructure and processes to optimally deliver legal support in a scalable manner
Preferred qualifications
  • Proficient in English (required); proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) required. Master’s degree in Business Law, Governance, or Compliance is an advantage. Experience: 8
