Consultant/Specialist Anesthesia

We're Hiring | Consultant/Specialist Anesthesia 📍 Location: Abu Dhabi 💼 Employment Type: Full-Time A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist Anesthesiologist to join its anesthesia and perioperative care team. The successful candidate will provide safe, high-quality anesthesia services across a range of surgical and procedural specialties and contribute to comprehensive perioperative patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care according to clinical expertise and patient requirements.
• Monitor patients throughout surgical and procedural interventions and manage intraoperative complications.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and ensure appropriate pain management and patient recovery.
• Manage airway emergencies and participate in resuscitation and critical care support when required.
• Assess and optimize patients with complex medical conditions prior to surgery.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform anesthesia-related procedures within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and patient-safety standards.
• Participate in emergency and on-call duties as required.
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient-safety initiatives.
• Support teaching, supervision, and professional development of junior medical staff.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology / Anaesthesia .
• Eligibility for or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant or Specialist licence , as applicable.
• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience appropriate to the applied position.
• Strong experience in perioperative and anesthesia management.
• Current Good Standing Certificate and verifiable professional credentials.
• Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.
