Consultant Thoracic Surgeon

We're Hiring | Consultant Thoracic Surgeon 📍 Location: Abu Dhabi 💼 Employment Type: Full-Time A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Thoracic Surgeon to join its surgical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex thoracic conditions and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with thoracic surgical conditions.
• Perform a broad range of thoracic surgical procedures according to qualifications and clinical privileges.
• Manage patients with benign and malignant diseases of the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, chest wall, and airway.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and develop appropriate surgical treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Work closely with pulmonologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and complex case discussions where applicable.
• Perform minimally invasive and/or open thoracic procedures within the scope of expertise.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical documentation standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and teaching to junior surgeons and medical staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in thoracic surgery and evidence-based clinical practice.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Thoracic Surgery / Cardiothoracic Surgery or an equivalent specialty qualification.
• Eligibility for or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licence .
• Relevant post-specialization experience appropriate for Consultant level.
• Strong clinical and surgical experience in thoracic surgery.
• Current Good Standing Certificate and verifiable professional credentials.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
